Media Library

The Media Library is where you upload and manage images and videos used across Tapboard — for menu item images, advertisements, and other visual content.

Accessing the Media Library

Navigate to Media in the sidebar to open the Media Library.

Uploading Media

  1. Click Upload in the Media Library.
  2. Select a file from your computer or drag and drop it into the upload area.
  3. Optionally, enter a custom name. If left blank, the filename is used.
  4. Click Upload.

Supported File Types

TypeFormats
ImagesJPG, PNG, GIF, WebP
VideosMP4, MOV, AVI

File Size Limit

The maximum file size per upload is 100 MB.

Storage Limits

Your plan determines how much total media storage you have:

PlanStorage
Sampler (Free)No media storage
StarterNo media storage
Pro10 GB
Pro+50 GB

If you reach your storage limit, you will need to delete unused files or upgrade your plan before uploading more.

Video Restrictions

Video uploads are available on plans that include media storage. Maximum video duration varies by plan.

Browsing Media

The Media Library displays all uploaded files with thumbnails. You can:

  • Search by name using the search bar.
  • Browse through your uploaded assets.
  • View file details including dimensions, duration (for videos), and upload date.

Using Media

Media files from your library can be used in:

  • Menu Items — Upload or select an image for a menu item.
  • Advertisements — Use images or videos as ad content.

When creating or editing a menu item or ad, you can choose from your existing media library instead of uploading a new file each time.

Importing from Canva

If you have connected your Canva account (Pro plan and above), you can import designs directly into the Media Library:

  1. Click Import from Canva in the Media Library header.
  2. Browse your Canva designs in the modal that appears.
  3. Click Import on the design you want.
  4. The design is exported as a PNG and added to your library.

Imported files work the same as any other uploaded media. See Integrations for details on connecting Canva.

Deleting Media

  1. Select the media file you want to delete.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Note: If a media file is currently in use by a menu item or advertisement, deleting it may affect those items. Review what's using the file before deleting.

Tips

  • Optimize images before uploading — Large image files slow down device rendering. Resize images to the display resolution (1920x1080 for Full HD) for best performance.
  • Use descriptive names — Naming files descriptively (e.g., "happy-hour-promo-spring-2026.jpg") makes it easier to find them later.
  • Clean up unused files — Periodically review and delete media you no longer need to keep your library organized.
