What is Tapboard?
A menu board that runs off your POS. Plug a Fire TV Stick into any TV, pair it with the code on screen, and the wall shows whatever your Square catalog says. You change it from the dashboard; the screens follow.
How do I get started?
Sign up and your account starts on Pro for fourteen days, no card. Build a menu board, install the Tapboard app on a Fire TV Stick, and pair the device using the code on screen. Your menu appears straight away.
What is the 14-day Pro trial?
Every new account starts on the Pro plan for 14 days (POS integration, custom branding, multiple menu boards, all of it). No credit card required. At day 14, if you have not subscribed, your dashboard locks to the Billing page until you pick a plan. POS sync stops, POS-pulled items deactivate, and Fire TV displays go dark. All your data is preserved, so nothing is deleted. Subscribe any time to restore full access; your menus and displays are still there waiting for you.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from your dashboard. Changes take effect immediately and billing is prorated.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No contracts. All plans are month-to-month. Cancel anytime from your dashboard with no cancellation fees.
How do I get support?
Support runs through your Tapboard dashboard. Starter includes email support. Pro and Platinum include live chat, and Platinum gets priority response times.
Which POS systems are supported?
Square is fully supported with automatic catalog sync. Clover integration is on the roadmap. You can also enter your menu manually on any plan without a POS connection.
How does POS sync work?
Connect your Square account via OAuth with one click. Tapboard imports your catalog (items, prices, categories, images and variations) and keeps everything in sync. Depending on your plan, sync happens via polling or real-time webhooks.
Can I use Tapboard without a POS system?
Yes. Every plan includes manual menu entry. You can create categories, add items with prices and descriptions, and build menu boards entirely from the dashboard without connecting any POS system.
What hardware do I need?
Any TV with an HDMI port and a Fire TV Stick device. No proprietary displays or special hardware required. A Fire TV Stick costs around $30 and works with any TV.
What Fire TV devices are supported?
Tapboard supports Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen and later), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, and Fire TV Cube. For a full list of supported devices and setup instructions, see our device compatibility guide.
How many screens can I run?
Starter runs 1 screen at 1 location. Pro runs up to 3 screens at 1 location. Platinum runs unlimited screens across unlimited locations.
